House on the Skarp

House on the Skarp is an individual project of a single-family house BRJ-Studio, in which the landscaping became the main starting point for the entire architectural concept. The building, set on a natural slope, takes advantage of the difference in levels — the ground floor with brick underlayment and concrete details blends into the escarpment, while the storey with dark wood cladding and shutters rises above it with clear expression. A gable roof with dark tiles, roof windows and a glass gable facade complete the multi-material composition. An off-road staircase made of stone steps and lush plantings of ornamental grasses and shrubs naturally integrate the house into the wooded surroundings. House on the Skarp is an individual project, which proves that the difficult conditions of the plot can become the greatest architectural asset of the project.
